Super Secret Exclusive Gig
22/06/09, 21:09 BST, Nik
So, Mojo's birthday is fast approaching, and after the 'questionable' celebrations last week for Nick's birthday, we feel this one should go off with a more appealing (and slightly less homo-erotic) 'Bang.' Hence, the super secret exclusive gig. Wicked-Messengers are hosting a gig at local venue 'The Musician' open to family and friends of the band only. The night will feature special guest appearances and will certainly be an enjoyable experience for the band and fans alike. Also, after the frankly disappointing and rather embarrasing last public appearance, the messengers need to show what they are really capable of.

This performance will also mark the unveiling of their newest song, which was on the set list for last saturday, but due to the very evident technical problems, they skipped the song in order to make up time. And plus, the audience of four kids and their gran didn't quite deserve to have the song wasted on them to be honest.
Gig goes south

Before I start this article, an announcement has to be made: 'never again'

Saturday 20th June at around about half past 1 in the afternoon, the messengers arrived at local bar and venue 'The Shed' only to find a band of what looked to be twelve year old shool children setting up on stage. At that point, the band had already condemned the approaching gig as void. It didn't count towards anything useful, and so as soon as it began, the band weren't really focusing on playing their best, and rather saving themselves up for the performance next week.

After a huge technical failure on the part of the sound technician, the vocals were cut out for around five minutes during the song 'The Wanted.' The band held its composure and simply jammed on stage throughout the failure. The crowd were kept fairly entertained by the jam and the sight of the tecnician falling over while trying to scramble onto the stage. The band received a cheer when finally the vocals returned and the song continued, but by that point the band only wanted to get out of the venue as fast as possible. Overall the playing was good, but the atmosphere ruined what could have been another epic performance by the messengers.
